Walmart Is Sneaky! Pets EP.

After looking at pictures of digital cuteness, I caved and decided to go buy the Pets EP. I was going to wait for a few weeks, or possibly even until Christmas to buy the game, but I couldn't resist after seeing how much everyone seems to love it. I won't even be able to play it until tomorrow due to a 12-page essay I'm writing tonight (procrastinators unite!). However, I have already uninstalled the previous games and removed all CC (gulp) because I want to start with a clean game.

I was going to pre-order a long time ago, but I chose not to for a reason that I can't remember. After seeing that there was a "limited edition" release, I thought it would probably be a good idea to get it now. I wanted that pet store! I looked online, but the website claimed that it was out of stock so it was not available for purchase online. I didn't want to buy it online, I wanted to purchase it in the store! It didn't mention anything about it being out of stock in the store.

So, naturally, I braved 5 o'clock traffic in a blazing storm to get to Walmart, avoiding several collisions along the way... not to mention all of the horse and buggy drivers I had to pass. This Walmart is so far out in the middle of There-Is-Nothing-But-Cows-And-Farm Land that there are Amish people everywhere.
Oh, Indiana, how I love thee!

When I made it into the store, and went to the back where the games were kept, my heart sank. I could see all of the other Sims3 EPs, but Pets was nowhere to be found. There wasn't even an empty space where the game should have been. I didn't understand why they wouldn't be selling it. There wasn't even an advertisement for it. JUST as I was walking away and feeling defeated, I noticed a big plastic sign on the top shelf that could potentially be blocking other games. I thought I might as well look, even though it wasn't likely that they would keep a newly released game back there. It was so high up that a person would either have to be really tall, or stand on the bottom shelf (like I did) and reach as far as possible to pull the sign down a little bit while trying to grab one.

Lo' and behold! There they were! Why in the world would they keep it there?? I must have been one of the few to actually realize they were back there because it looked like only one or two had been taken. I was so happy! Then I realized that one of the guys working in that department had been watching me the whole time, arms crossed. It was awkward. Why watch me struggle and not offer to help? Customer Service fail. We had an even more awkward stare down for a painful few seconds before I shuffled away, game in hand. I felt like a nerd. lol But I got it! I can't wait to play it. =)

If you have the game already, what do you think about it so far? Is it everything you expected? How many animal breeds are there? I'm so excited!

I feel like I have missed so much...

I've been gone for so long! I took what I thought would be a short break after Sesert began reeking havoc again. It's been way too long! I didn't even realize that Pets is going to be released soon. In fact, it's coming out tomorrow, which should seem like perfect timing, but I don't think I will buy it right away. I'm afraid to after what happened with Generations.... which reminds me I haven't played my game in months. Months! How did this happen? I hope they came up with a fix for the Exception Raised error. I also got back on the forums to see what people were chatting about. I didn't recognize anyone at all. I feel like the newbie. =P How are you all. What have I missed? *hugs*

Well guys here it is: How I feel about Generations

I got the game on Friday but didn't have the chance to really play it until yesterday. Then it crashed. I started it back up today. It crashed again. This hasn't happened to me for months... at least not until I installed Generations.

HOWEVER for whatever amount of time I did get to play, the game was pretty fun. And it kept me laughing.

I wanted to start with a problem child who had an imaginary friend. I wanted them to eventually get married after she made him real. This plan was crushed because the imaginary friend doll never came in the mail. I decided to spend this time instead letting the parents and toddler bond:




There were some touching moments and I was entertained. After she aged up into a child I had her pull pranks on her mom. She was sent to time out a lot! =P

Then when she was a teen I decided it was time for her to find a normal boyfriend since she couldn't have an imaginary friend. I chose Mortimer Goth for lack of better townies at the time. They actually got along well. On their first date she nonchalantly put her hand on his and he got a surprised look like he wasn't expecting it. lol It was cute:

I wanted them to go to prom together but just as things were really getting interesting in the game... it crashed and I lost everything. Belle (sim above) no longer exists. =( I tried to have her parents try for a baby again today, hoping that I could try everything again. But before the baby even arrived the game crashed again with an error like it did the first time. I don't know what this is all about but I hope that the patch will do something about it. Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up.

For what it's worth, if the more major issues are fixed, it should be a pretty cool game.

I can't wait to see what the imaginary friends do. I'm also excited to set my teens loose around the neighborhood so they can prank people. =D

Edit: I made a thread and people asked if I would post pictures. I told them that I would, so I spent time taking pictures. When I went to post them I saw that my thread had been deleted. LOL That's nice EA.
